Sean Mahoski Ironman Tournament 05/18

Sean Mahoski Ironman Tournament- May 18th

CSHL Roller Hockey- Sean Mahoski Ironman Tournament- May 18th

The registration process will take you through everything required to officially register for our tournament taking place on Saturday, May 18th.

Please read through each page carefully, as well as all the details below before registering.

Registration fee for this tournament is a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association. Upon registering, you will receive an email with the link to the donation page in Sean's memory. We will be monitoring the donations and matching them up with registrants to confirm a donation was made prior to playing.  Our goal is to raise $1,000! There will be raffles & giveaways at the tournament as well!

Everyone must sign up individually, however if you are a part of a team entering, there will be a place to indicate this. Teams are limited to 5 skaters and a goalie. If enough players sign up, we'd love to split teams into two different divisions of skill (A and B division). The final format will be determined closer to May 18th. ***We will try our best to keep requested teams together, but for the sake of making sure there is a good level of competition, players may be split up. Every level of skill is welcome in this tournament.***

If the tournament is canceled due to inclement weather, we will work to provide a make up date throughout the summer. There will be no reimbursements for donations to the ABTA.

This is an adult roller hockey tournament for players ages 18 & up. However, if you are between the ages of 15-17 & have prior roller hockey experience (or have played in one of our adult tournaments before) you may still sign up. These players will need a parent/guardian to fill out a waiver on their behalf.

Lastly, huge THANK YOU to the Morrison Family YMCA for allowing us to use the rink for Sean's tournament free of charge.

*NOTE: You must register & donate to be eligible to play. If donating only & not planning to play, you do not need to complete this registration.

Skater (30) & Goalie (6) Registration Caps

***Please be aware we are accepting skaters and goalies for 6 teams.  Once these thresholds are exceeded, skaters & goalies that sign up will go on a Waiting List. We will do our best to notify when the Waiting List has started via email & social media. If there are enough players & goalies on the waiting list closer to tournament time, we would love to expand the amount of teams and split into an A and B division. If there are not enough players on the waiting list to make an additional team(s), players on the list will be notified that they will not be able to play. As noted previously, the donation/registration fee to ABTA is non-refundable***

We ask that you let us know ASAP if you register and it turns out you CANNOT attend.  This will give us time to replace you with someone on the Waiting List.  Waiting List members will be contacted in order of when they registered (ie. the first person on the Waiting List will be the first person contacted to see if he/she is still available to participate).

Tournament Format

  • 4 to 5 game guarantee
  • 10 minute games
  • 4v4
  • Max skaters per team 5
  • Penalties = Penalty shots
  • No stop clock (unless of an injury)
  • Faceoffs occur only after a goal; Defenders will clear puck from zone after a goalie stoppage

Depending on the amount of teams we end up with will determine how many teams make playoffs. Game schedule and final format will be provided once registration ends on or around Wednesday, May 15th.

Registering as an "A", "B", or "C" Player

The purpose of the rating is to help us know your skill level if you have not played with us before.

Registering as an "A" player:   has previously been a high contributor in any hockey league or tournament, whether that be ice, roller, or deck hockey... and whether that be related to statistics (goals, assist, etc) or other hockey-related contributions (excellent defender, etc)

Registering as a "B" player:  knows the game well enough, and contributes here and there but displays no more than "some" examples of prolific scoring or hockey contributions

Registering as a "C" player:  ranges from "new to hockey" all the way to "some competitive contribution".  Hockey contributions may be limited for reasons including but not limited to "shaking off the rust", age, general ability, etc.

Goalies:  please do your best to rate yourself.  You are encouraged to register as a "C" goalie if you are new to the position or haven't played goalie in a lengthy period of time.  "A" goalies play consistently in either the ball/roller/ice formats and have the ability to win games for their teams.  "B" goalies fall somewhere in between.

Tournament Rules & Volunteers

Final tournament rules will be sent out with the schedule.  Safety remains CSHL's top priority.  We ask that you respect the rules and heed the judgment calls of our  referees and make an effort to avoid physical confrontation at all costs; it will not be tolerated.

We are looking for volunteers to:

Scorekeep, photograph games, referee, organize, etc.

We are also looking for items to raffle off at the tournament- if you or anyone you know would be interested in donating gift cards/gift baskets, new hockey equipment, etc. for the raffle, please let us know! Proceeds from the raffle will also be going to ABTA.
